CONSTRUCTING A SELF-EFFICACY DEVELOPMENT MODEL FOR DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS
Abstract
This study aims to construct a self-efficacy development model for diabetes mellitus patients, focusing on empowering individuals to manage their condition effectively. Diabetes mellitus presents significant challenges globally, including in Indonesia, where healthcare resources may be limited. At Darussalam Puskesmas in Medan, Indonesia, the model integrates educational interventions, behavioral strategies, and patient empowerment techniques tailored to local cultural and healthcare contexts. Through a mixed-methods approach, including surveys and qualitative interviews, the study identifies key factors influencing self-efficacy among diabetes patients. Results indicate that enhancing self-efficacy through targeted interventions improves patients' ability to adhere to treatment regimens, adopt healthy behaviors, and manage diabetes-related complications. Implementing this model could enhance diabetes management outcomes in similar healthcare settings.
